Visitor Info

The Anmatjere Council covers a large area with the Stuart Highway running through the regional center of Ti Tree.

A permit is not needed for travel along the Highway or when visiting Ti Tree, people are most welcome to stop and stay in our wonderful town. However, if you plan to turn off the Stuart Highway or visit one of the Aboriginal Communities, you will need to obtain permission from the Traditional Owners.

A permit can be obtained via the internet, from the Central Land Council or by getting in touch with the Council directly by Contacting Us .

The petrol station at Ti Tree carries all types of fuel including LPG and Diseal.

The facilities at 'Gemtree', on the Plenty Highway, provide opportunities for tourists to fossick for garnets and zircons in the richest field in Australia. Tourists can also cut, polish and set stones on site. There is also Indigenous tourism - two fantastic art galleries in Ti Tree, some arts and crafts at the Aileron roadhouse and the amazing dancing at Laramba and Alcoota.
